Use of a CMOS password is not very common these days. However, if you are a power user who thinks that computer security is important, you probably use a CMOS password as one layer of your computer security practices. Should you forget your CMOS password, Softradar's CMOSPWD application will be able to help you rest the CMOS password. I have also used the CMOS password utility after purchasing a used computer. The original owner had a CMOS password and did not disclose it during the sale.
