Notepad2 does not require installation and does not access the system registry during operation. Easily search for text with advanced options. There is a tray minimization mode and a window transparency function.

I've been using Notepad2 for a while now and it's been a great experience. It is lightweight and fast, and it is easier to use than Notepad. It also has great syntax highlighting which is a major plus. The search/replace function is great and supports regular expressions. The ability to extend the functionality with plugins is also a nice touch. I found the custom shortcuts feature very helpful too. It also supports multiple languages, which is a great feature. All in all, I highly recommend Notepad2.
